The Kelly O'Bryan's Story

The concept of a neighbourhood restaurant with an Irish theme was the brain child of Reg Henry and a partner. With a combined background of over twenty-five years of restaurant management experience they developed and operated the first Kelly O'Bryan's Neighborhood Restaurant . This restaurant opened on February 17th, 1987 and its remarkable success with sales exceeding one million dollars annually, led to expansion via franchising.

Starting one year later, new franchised Kelly O'Bryan's Neighborhood Restaurants were opened in:

• Kamloops (February 5th, 1988)
• Vernon (May 24th, 1989)
• Surrey (October 29th, 1992)
• Prince George (March 11, 1998)
• Salmon Arm (February 22, 2000)

Each restaurant enjoyed the same sales success as the original restaurant in the first and subsequent years.

The founders of this successful concept are devoted to customer service and their philosophy for the training of management and staff is that it be ongoing and continuous. Reg regards this as the most important aspect of the operation and it has proven to be invaluable in the growth and prosperity of the Kelly O'Bryan's operating restaurants.

The "Food and Follies Encyclopaedia" published quarterly presents an attractive and varied menu that take advantage of private label products in salad dressings, sauces and other items to the delight of patrons. Volume purchasing is the reason that prices are kept reasonable to the delight of the customers and staff. This as well as a full service bar menu the Barstool Encyclopaedia and the fact that the servers wear traditional Kilts are some of the reasons Kelly O'Bryan's Neighborhood Restaurants enjoy so many regular satisfied customers.
